Casper has a full portfolio of obsessively engineered sleep products—including mattresses, pillows and bedding—designed by the Company’s in-house design team. In addition to its e-commerce business, Casper has over 40 retail locations across the United States and its products are available at a number of retailers.

Nuts and Bolts

We are looking for an exceptional people and business leader to manage a fleet of stores for Casper. You will accelerate the growth of Casper in your respective district with ongoing business planning, by developing a pipeline of leaders through regular talent mapping and enhance the brand by teaching exceptional storytelling and delivering experiential service. You are passionate about leadership and recognize that getting the best from your teams requires teaching by example, active coaching, and investing in development. You have a practical sensibility when it comes to the guest journey and excel in data-driven decision making.

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do…

Performance Driver

  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding sales plans and increasing Casper’s penetration rate in managed markets
  • Set clear goals and expectations and hold people accountable to a high standard of excellence
  • Achieve financial targets through monitoring and improvement of measurable statistics that drive results
  • Help create business driving strategies which may consist of identifying marketing opportunities, new selling/clienteling strategies and regular business reviews with HQ leadership and your team
  • Responsible for the P&L of your district & managed markets
  • Analyze, interpret, and apply data to identify key trends to maximize results. This includes reporting out information to key business stakeholders
  • Drive your area’s business with agility, changing direction and continuously improving using data to make actionable business recommendations
  • Participate in the execution of new store openings, renovations & relocations in your district
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the wider organization such as Marketing, People, Retail Operations and Experience to ensure success of your market
  • Operate a district of up to 14 retail locations

Talent Manager

  • The Talent Manager is accountable for their district leadership development, employee experience, recruitment and team engagement
  • Model behavior that reflects the company mission, vision, and values
  • Manage team performance and growth through recognition, team engagement, and creating a culture of feedback in a calm objective fact-based manner
  • Provide growth and talent development through ongoing training, monthly, quarterly, and annual check-ins

Communication

  • You are the voice of the district and is the connection point between the stores and Director of Retail
  • Build engagement within your district and between your peer group resulting in a sense of community
  • Effectively receives and delivers feedback from the district on the guest journey, product wins and opportunities, operational challenges, and overall performance
  • Maintain a performance culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and goal achievement
  • Maintain safe working conditions and facilities maintenance
  • Build and promote strong collaborative relationships across the fleet and HQ
  • Be the voice of the guest, ensuring insights and opportunities to improve brand, product and services are synthesized in actionable state back to Casper organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years minimum experience as a multi-unit people leader in retail, sales, guest service, or hospitality industry
  • Flexible Availability including weekends, blackout dates and holidays to support business needs
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce & Google Docs
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

The Finer Print

  • Work involves reaching out to meet new people and build relationships within district (e.g local events and mall management)
  • Work is sometimes conducted on a computer or other technical devices, including to meet with others virtually (hybrid work environment)
  • Work involves moving through a store but can also involve sitting for extended periods of time (i.e., more than 1 hour)
  • Work may involve moving boxes weighing up to 150 lbs
  • Hours expectation: minimum of 40 hours per week including weekends, based on business needs.
  • Will be expected to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Status: Exempt
  • Candidate must reside near: Los Angeles, CA
  • States within this territory may include: CA, OR, WA, NV, UT

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $130,000-150,000 USD

Casper’s compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
